We can’t do it without your help

Giving Tuesday, a day where people around the world give to causes and organizations for a day-long celebration of gratitude.

For OBT, it’s a day of even greater significance: it marks our 36th year of serving the New York City community.

36 Years ago, Sister Mary Franciscus opened the doors of OBT for the first time. There were no smartphones, no Craigslist or LinkedIn, and a “9-5” job was the norm. It was a different era, yet 36 years later, OBT remains focused on our Founder’s vision - connecting individuals to education, training, and jobs.

Today, we have state-of-the-art facilities across four locations in Brooklyn and Queens, and programming informed by industry partners in technology and healthcare. The path of economic mobility is not linear and it isn’t easy. OBT’s programming is designed to help people along that path - helping individuals get from where they are to where they want to go.

Help us continue our mission for more years to come by giving to OBT’s general fund this Giving Tuesday, December 3rd. 100% of all donations received will go directly towards programs. We’re asking for suggested donations of $36 - one dollar for each year of OBT - but anything you can give helps.
